Understanding the history does explain the background General InformationThe Lady Spies series of stories was spawned by my interest in the (primarily) television spy series of the 1960's. The style of those shows was campy, somewhat humorous, generally with a handsome guy solving crimes against his country. Although there may have been shows before the Avengers, this show was prototype of the 1960's spy show. On these shows, a man was the lead. He often had beautiful women as sidekicks or with a role in the show (although there were exceptions), but spying was a man's profession. Granted, Mrs. Peel could hold her own against any man, but she often became the damsel in distress, to be rescued by Steed. [The same applied to the other Avengers women.]The Lady Spies series eliminates the man in the team and focuses on teams of women, who try to capture international criminals and spies, mostly women. There are significant differences between those TV shows and the Lady Spies. First and foremost, this series of stories is fetish fantasy fiction. That means that there is a lot of bondage, chloroformings, KOs and other fetishes, including silk scarves, in the stories. The stories are set in the late 1950's and early 1960's. This was the middle of the Cold War, which was a prime time for spies. It was also a time without the sophisticated weapons, satellites and communications we have today. It was a time when dress was more formal, when women got dressed up each day (and men wore suits each day). The women's hair styles were such that women often wore fashion headscarves to protect their hair.The Lady Spies stories includes a lot of non-consensual sexual acts and some that are consensual. In Lady Spies, sex is often used to show loyalty to a villain, to acknowledge defeat (often non-consensual), to manipulate a captive (including during interrogation), to humiliate a captive, to prepare them to become a sex slave and in some case, to show love. Most of the sex is girl-girl sex, but there is also guy-girl sex with some pretty evil guys and this is mostly pure domination. In real life, these would be terrible acts and they are in fetish fantasy fiction also, but here the women are resilient, more so than they would be in real life. They are part of the fictional world the Lady Spies live in - including routine KO's, the extensive use of ropes and gags, the use chloroform and even murder.The stories focus on two agents, Stacy Steward and her partner, Susan Harris. Our heroines (and the other Lady Spies) work for the Agency. Perhaps this is the CIA. Perhaps this is some other spy agency. They do work both foreign and domestic cases...the CIA isn't suppose to work inside the United States, so who knows.The Lady Spies stories either are novellas (short novels) or novels in length. There are always intertwining plots and new characters popping up in these stories. This purposely differs from a lot of bondage (or other fetish) short stories, which are much less involved. The Ranch Affair - 1960

Agent Susan Harris, accompanied by her friend, Agent Stacy Steward, go to a doctor's office for a routine physical. Aiko, formerly of the Lady Dragons, blows up the clinic. Susan is thought to be dead by Stacy. Stacy is thought to be a traitor by the Agency. Actually, neither is true. Stacy has been kidnapped by Aiko for revenge and to regain her place in the Lady Dragons after Stacy humiliated her (in The Stewardess Affair).

Two new agents, Nancy Killman and Cindy Atkins, both specializing in interrogation, not babysitting are introduced and are suppose to keep Susan under wraps, as she is suppose to be dead. In the meantime, Susan's sister Emily is heading for LA by bus and never makes it. Susan goes to find her sister.

New agent Doris Jenkins is assigned to find Susan and she meets up with Babs Wilson, who barely escaped from The Ranch. They team up and head out to find The Ranch, where everyone is heading either voluntarily or not. The Duchess and her gang also converge on the Ranch.

There are a couple of really bad guys in this story. Richard Banks is the corrupt local sheriff, whose nickname is 'Fat Dick" for good reason and Chuck, the motel manager, who sets up the woman to be abducted by The Ranch and then collects their silk scarves and panties they leave behind.

The Steward Affair - 1961

Agent Stacy Steward had been missing for months and then she is implicated in high-profile robberies and kidnappings in France, believed to be the work of the Duchess' gang. Agents Harris, Wilson, Jenkins, Killman and Atkins go to France to try to arrest Stacy Steward and put an end to the Duchess and her gang. The fact is that France wants them all hanged, including Stacy. Everything comes down to an assault on the Duchess' villa.

The Duchess Affair - 1961

In the aftermath of The Steward Affair, the Duchess is missing and presumed dead. Stacy Steward is in some hellish prison in the Middle East. But suspicions that the Duchess is alive circulate and the Man with the Corner Office needs Stacy's help, because she is the only person outside of the Duchess' gang that has intimate (and I do mean intimate) knowledge of the Duchess and how she operates.

However, the Duchess attacks first, kidnapping both Stacy and Susan. Agents Jenkins and Wilson are sent to England to work with British Agent Viscountess Seaton to rescue Agents Steward and Harris. However, all of them become entangled with the Duchess' and East German Agent Greta Rosenbach's plan to bring down the English government.

The Golden Dragon Affair - 1961

Agents Stacy Steward and Susan Harris go after a serial killer in a local sanatorium run by Doctor Nichols and Nurse Hillsdale.

Meanwhile Agents Jenkins and Wilson are sent to Hong Kong to try to retrieve the Golden Dragon from the Dragon Lady. They are joined by British Agent Viscountess Seaton.

The Nazi Affair - 1961

Stacy Steward and her partner Susan Harris are refused permission to go after Royce, the Butler, who has been located in Argentina after escaping from Hong Kong (the Golden Dragon Affair).  Instead they are assigned to work as part of a team to go after gun runners.  Agent Lori Trackman, associated with the Hong Kong Embassy, has gone after Royce, who has sexually attacked hundreds of women, and who kidnapped the US Hong Kong Ambassador's daughter, Katie. 

Unknown to Lori or the other Lady Spies, Royce has become part of a much bigger conspiracy that has the potential to reshape the world as we know it.  His partners are not concerned about his sexual exploits, they are just one of his talents that may help fuel a new world order. 

After Lori Trackman is murdered, Stacy, Susan, JoAnn and Emily try to capture Royce, rescue Katie and prevent the conspiracy from succeeding.
